Quiet and Pensive
I can almost see him there sitting at the airport
That must have been circa nineteen-seventy
Waiting for a late-night transatlantic flight
A lyrical poet in the making on his way to destiny
A world of opportunities awaited the young man
Mild achievements as well as disappointments
But we must always pay the price before we rise
Until considerable success comes with enjoyment
I can picture him sitting there quiet and pensive
Looking out the window with articulate speech
Writing as his reflection stares back at him
The millions of lives he would eventually reach
I can envision him, long hair, tall and thin frame
Ready to board the plane that would fly by night
And for us the world would never be the same
I can imagine the lyrical poet take his flight
