Solstice

Midsummer’s impending equinox,
sunlight creeps forward so silently,
through the stone eye, magic it stalks,
air and light clash most violently

Eruption blast, explosion intense,
magical forces swirl, blinding flash,
surreal spectacle, no defence,
sparks fly iridescent, fierce backlash

Forces of nature, nowhere to hide,
fireball, celestial path ecliptic,
suddenly heaven and earth collide,
questions abound, answers are cryptic

From out of the black soil, shoots emerge,
green and tender, their delicate stance,
pushing forth, ever forward they surge,
coaxed and prodded by a Druid’s life dance
