Image for the poem the monsters you hide

the monsters you hide

in the rain I saw you gleaming and I desire your heart
the truth of you without shadow
we came together, I lusted you deeply
in our sin we were one
sadly I touch your pain and you went away

in my lonely days I found another
no, he isn't you
my immortal love

you stir on the horizon and like a maiden,
in her innocence, I come to you again

I hurt in the starshine
I fear you see me changed
once tasted I shy from your gaze
understanding the need in you I hide

do you crave me deep inside?

deep where your monsters live
don't fear, I already know them
in the still of the night come for me
you take my breath away

damn...
