Kicking Brick Walls

the hints
on wanting out
were too lazy
too subtle
difficult to understand

monosyllables
were supposedly glue
for relationships
it so, those adhesives were cheap
everything cracked
broke into pieces

so the conversations stopped
the waiting
the listening
disappeared into impossibility

and I stare into blank pages
trying to scare alphabets
into pretty words
to explain the pain
or to move on without caring
