I knew when I read this title in my updates that this would go in my RL...
You sum up so very much in your perfectly crafted minimalism.

Great minimalism (I'm wondering if you dropped the two "I's" also, nothing would be lost?).
When I see the word 'nothing' in a poem, it reminds me of that summary phrase "Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God" (from A Course in miracles). The challenge comes in discerning between the two (the real and the unreal) but I feel your poem adds another dimension to it, that being (for me) acceptance of nothing ("that will have to do") which makes it into a 'something', by accepting it (if that makes sense). In that way, you have nobly empowered yourself in the face of disappointment.

And that is the absurdity that one can be okay with the fact of nothing which is contradictory in the face our ever expanding material world ( just look at social media with all its "get rich" now schemes). The less one owns, the less one is owned ( if one can shift the paradigm).
Thank you, Josh. Your insights are always appreciated.

Dear BK,
I liked that you even attempted to look for something special to begin with. I didn’t find anything special either. Only a boat load of mini disappointments. In the end that’s okay I found nothing ventured nothing gained to be a good teacher. Sort of. I’m so glad to have found a fellow searcher.

That's probably the reason we connected so well as we recognise that we are searching for the same unicorn.

These short pieces deliver such a punch.
What's weird sometimes is that when you're not looking, it'll come to you.
