That first stanza is very meaningful to me. Sometimes you want to be cut, to feel that blood as it leaves the vein and it takes you away somewhere else or it just keeps you there feeling nothing else. Allowing someone else to do it for you is an incredible level of trust. The second stanza beautifully illustrates how that level of trust is only accomplished if both share it. Regaining that ability trust after it was lost is truly difficult; to get through those protective barriers built through suffering - it is one of the hardest things...
