"Who Are You?"

Such a question lies behind the eyes of the person
Staring into the mirror to a point where the reflection is lies
You cannot believe what you are staring at
Some sort of shell without an actual purpose
Wasting space in an economy that is too damn big
Planning your future doing pointless jobs and meandering about
Every second being carved into your Life Stone
Whether you are inactive or active.....

I dislocated my philosophy from my existence for a little while
Just to see how everyone else seems to indulge themselves
Never worrying about trivialities that make their mind throb
Enjoying the simplicity of expecting a new day
Living with the decisions they make as only minor mistakes
Accepting the pain they receive as a hurdled obstacle
Finding partners nonchalantly and having tiny heartbreaks
Getting up and jumping into things.....

It was a terrifyingly sweet release from my habits
No need to worry or fear for the future
Letting the path just 'run it's course'
Letting the waves of simplicity become my ride
Across a vast ocean of complexities.....

Too much time wasted on purposely wasting time
The insecurities jam themselves back into memory
I have to figure out who I am before it's too late

Too late for what?

Where is this all going?

Why can't one just relax and stay on the current
Floating their way through life
Instead of creating their own riptides?

Who am I?

It seems the definition slips my mind.
