DARING TO BE ME (#7)

HUMILITY

Words are, in my opinion,
among, if not, the most
powerful forces in the world.
With words, we start
wars. and with words
we end wars.
With words, we start
a love journey and with
words we end the journey.
With words, we reveal the
opposite of what our
resume may claim or
position we hold affirms.
When I affirm I am
DARING
to be me, I am not
launching a promise
to treat others less than
kindly, lovingly, and special.
Perhaps in the past I haven't,
BUT,
now I am daring to change
that and become what the
depth of my heart desires.
When I try to reduce you
with words I am burying
myself in a grave I can't
escape or be happy in.
Whether the "old gang"
doesn't like the new me
I'm daring to be, is their
CHOICE,
which I respect and
wish them well on
their journey down
"Criticism Lane" which ends
at "Loneliness Circle."
NOTHING,
in my opinion.
is sadder than wanting
to be a big frog in a
little pond. But accept
and honor your choice
as you swim in shallow waters,
missing the depth and beauty
in the vast sea of freedom
granted by DARING TO
BE THE REAL AND BETTER
YOU.
