Round # 18
Those early morning runs are paying off
My heart feels a little more lively today
Four hundred eighty milligrams gone
Hopefully to help someone someday
Here, on round number eighteen
The needle feels like an old friend
But this one likes to give life willingly
It’s an excitement I’d recommend
In a few weeks the tiny scar will fade away
My vein has been a pretty good arranger
Now I can’t help but think that somehow
I’m connected to a stranger
And that’s a good thing

Thanks Robert. I like to tell the story that it saved my wife's life a few years back. It's like good karma, life just gives back.

Such a beautiful soul, you are, Walter.
You're right.. it's karma, all right.
I've been saved by someone who's donated, too
It's an amazing act of kindness..
Ty for sharing this and your blood
So well done!

Thank you very much for that wonderful comment Blue (and for the RL). We get back what we put out, I've always thought about putting out positives vibes out to the world.

Six years ago my daughters life was saved, in part, by someone who donated. Thank you for giving blood.

Hope your daughter is doing well. It's one of those things you hear about how donations really help in the long run. I always suggest to folks to give when they can (if they are OK to give), it only costs time and small pinch in the arm.

I've been lax in donating and missed the last two local blood drives. And there is usually one scheduled in April, which I tend to pass on - I delay as many appointments as possible during NaPo LOL.
Thank you for picking up the slack, Wally.

Thanks JB.
It's become a routine for me, every two months or so. Folks are usually busy and forget, but the drives are always great to get people out there.
I remember after the Las Vegas shooting how there was a huge line of people outside the hospital waiting to donate. That goes to show that humans in general are good and are willing to help.

Dear W,
Well done you! I am eternally grateful for those who can give. This poem is a love poem, for all those you alone will anonymously aid. H🌷

Thank you very much Honoria.
It's a simple, small way to encourage others to give whenever they can. Especially after a natural disaster or emergencies.
