& I shuffle into town on my own, but everything's closed down and I have never felt quite so alone

gotta work toward "adaptation' to this unforeseen change. I trust yr doing somekind of physical therapy. Stick with it maybe, cultivate a "gratitude", It easily could'a been a wipeout.....
