This Valentine's Day
be your own—
know your worth;
arise from the lost world
of swan-song and youth
Honor your growth
because it's your Truth;
allow this dawn to anoint
your violet voice
Indulge in joy
because you deserve;
cast yourself as belief—
silence the bells tolling
for the loneliness of yore;
Love like you've never
swallowed its honey before
~

YUMMIES! The assonance and consonance is DELICIOUS! And there's rhyme!
"be the bells tolling
for the loneliness of yore;
Love like you've never
swallowed its honey before"
That's what I call "Poetry" right there.
Thank You as always for making the day a special one for me! 😊 xo

Dear A,
I love being my own valentine. If only I was secure enough to enjoy it, by myself.
50% off candy on the other hand, that’s the true meaning of the day.
“ know your worth;
arise from the lost world” I love this phrase. Having spent a majority of my life in the lost world rising from it to learn and then accept my worth is an ongoing process but all is not stunted. There has been some growth. Lovely write with such value and tenderness throughout.

That is too true, my friend! Although Love day is every day, the prospect of my favorite chocolate being 50% off is exciting! LOL!

It’s hard to pull off this type of abstract, metaphor-laden self-affirmation without sounding pretentious, but you pull it off perfectly here. The last couple is brilliant, and as a whole it’s what I needed to read right now.

Thank you, Jack. Nibble a Cadbury's Milk Chocolate bar for me. They suck over here. I think it's the moo juice.
