to an unknowing eye
these are just paw prints
pressed into snow
that belong
to beautiful animals
who ran countless races
who were crated
for so many hours everyday
who were rescued
from that life
given the freedom
to be loved
unconditionally
I may only appear
as their walker
but, there is a deep bond
that occurs
when we step out into
the wild unknown together
we leave marks
that no one else
can begin to understand
within each others hearts
