it's a woman—
but more than that
a woman of color
It's transgender, gay
lesbian, or bisexual;
it's Asian, Natives:
American, Alaskan, Hawaiian
and Pacific Islander;
it's Indian, Latino
Hispanic, Black
and more women
than any other cabinet
the history of America had
It's not just a man
we celebrate today
nor put our faith in—
it's balance, equality
one nation, indivisible
with liberty and justice
regardless of what god
you serve, for all—ALL
because we're tired
of the divisiveness
white supremacy sows
The time has come
for unity and love—
for the melting pot
of America to become
what it should
~

It never was just a man. It never was supposed to be just a man. However, the last man was only capable of making it all about himself.
We live in a world of extremes that are always bereft of the one thing your poem highlights; the one thing extremes bring our attention to and always lead us back to:

One person is not just themselves, but everyone they represent -- I like that, it means that any of us can grow and transform, branch out, lose our predetermined definition and merge with the seeds we sow. We can embody the change we want to see, I think that's a famous line. We can also write our own new famous lines ! Great idea :)

It's a representation of the variety of all of us, it's people with experience, knowledge and most importantly education.
I don't know about you, but I feel like I'm breathing better, more positive, more hopeful. I know there are still a lot of obstacles and challenges to face but at least we have real leaders.

There was a time in which it was assumed that with every new president, the people working in the White House would be more diverse. Kind of got away from that and then went more to "tokenism" in which ability was second to fitting the right box. we still have a ways to go, for example, Ivy League schools and lawyers are way over represented.

I feel like this line is the lynchpin of the piece. I believe more in the diversity of idelology than skin colour, sexuality, et al, but representation is important and you make the case for it well in this piece. If it's a little light on image and metaphor, it uses rhetoric to powerful effect, rather like the Amanda Gorman inaugural poem.
