dim but not black
cool but not cold
a bitter night
a quiet one
babies vomit
sunset orange
luminescent
homophobic
homecooked meals
selfdestructive
lowincome streets
bankless artists
smallgame shooting
gallery
aviary
prison sentence
ugly skyline
ugly always
but always mine
Vicennial chai latte,
Just like dad would always make.
Feel every inch of its trip
Into my hollow stomach.
A lonely car rambles past,
Five minutes to lying down.
Clouds so heavy they could rip
The moon straight from heaven.
It would keep me from mourning.
And the way we kiss, practically familial,
And I will yearn for it some nights more than others
But I cannot love it here. So I’ll look one last time
Before saying
One last goodbye.
