Sorrowed Past

stop, stop before I break
this is more than I can take
one thing after another
it keeps on coming
overloaded, I might start running
leave it behind and run away
too much to handle for one day
can you come too?
always room for two
we're both stressed and we know it
we're both hurting, but don't show it
the happy mask is deteriorating
enemy troops are infiltrating
we're a sinking ship; we're going down
might as well show our frowns
they are winning
tears are brimming
this is all my stupid fault
push the brakes, come to a hault
try to at least come to a stalemate
before we reach a gore-filled bloody fate
stop it all, it has to end
come with me, my only friend
let's sign a treaty and at last
finally forget the sorrowed past
