How can you be true to yourself
When you do not even know
What ''yourself'' is?
True, some people know
From Day One what they
Want to do in life.
A nephew of mine, already
Into chemistry at an early age
Also obtained a PhD in chemistry
At a relatively young age.
Brilliant.
Others, like me, just seem
To forever wander aimlessly
Forever seeking yet never finding
Somewhat akin to one's sexual
Identity....straight, bi, bi-curious?
Some kids know from the get-go
That they are in the wrong body
Other discover their true self
Along the way, accepting
Or rejecting their finds until
They rue the day
Hating who and what they are
To the point of damaging
Their mental health in the process
Denying is worse than accepting
Even for the machos who will
Deceive themselves to death
While making themselves
And others unhappy.

It's takes a while for some of us to figure out what we want to do in life, while other's just cruise through until they find their calling. I chose to study business simply because it was logical thing to do while deep down my passion for music and writing lingered for the longest time.
The younger generation has the technological advantage to research and find what interests them, finding the resources and in the inspiration to get them where they want go.
