Meandering thoughts (1)
So Allah stems from Dark Caverns
Such as in Yemen.
His creed spread like wildfire
Being so paternalistic.
God , seems to me, stems more from
Progressive thought
(Say from such as Calvin and Luther, eventually)
Though also with a paternalistic vision.
While Islam has its mind set in stone
And has some very drastic and negative bends
Such as decapitations, immutable shariah law
Intertwined and distinguishing not
Between Religion and State
The Christian God is more flexible
And sometimes its adherents
Just walk away from the ''nonsense''
Of believing in some sort of Big Guy in the Sky,
Sometimes they come back in droves.
Cyclical.
True, the Church had its Inquisition
But it lasted for a time and things
Progressed and changed....a little.
Trying to make changes in the Church
Is like trying to get the Titanic to veer course.
They are too ingrained to make serious changes,
Afraid, I think, that they would then be
No different from the Protestant Church
Allowing priests to marry
Allowing women to become priests and bishops,
(Imagine a woman pope...)
Allowing gays and lesbians the same opportunities.
And so with Allah and God
We have two different worlds
And as Huntingdon has it in his
Clash of Civilizations
One day things between East and West
Will inevitably come to clash
As these two world visions
Are totally incompatible.
Such as in Yemen.
