Midnight Sea

Seafaring stargazer I am,
in your enchanting twilight,
adrift in the blackest of seas.

Moonlit waves within your eyes,
the black of those irises
are a pitiless abyss.

Pathless and shoreless,
I know not what our future holds,
as your hueless conscience chills me.

So, on I drift
in your tranquil blue eyes,
knowing the terrible depth beneath.

Your moonlight,
reflecting lanterns
within my eyes still.

Every note whispers
a winter song
over somber waves.

A careful tune,
then turned by roughened seas,
dipped and spooned out again.

I see Venus in your eyes!
Lighting candles within my eyes,
flickering in a newborn horizon.

Into a cloud
of early morning
sunrise.
