A Flower For Your Thoughts
'A flower for your thoughts,'
he said placing a flower
over her left ear.
'You really wouldn't want to know
if you had a clue as to my thoughts
Perhaps then I could steal a kiss
for you look so pretty in that dress
She said that stealing is a crime
but I can't blame you for trying
You see, she said, I have
a man of my own
you would be wise to leave me alone
He stared at her as she walked away
he heard her say
If I were you I wouldn't stay
because if you do there
will be hell to pay
He stood there stunned
and a bit confused
A moment later a man appeared
Asking if he had seen
a woman go by
wearing a pretty sun dress
When he nodded and said yes
the stranger drew closer
giving him an unusual stare
He said a bit embarrassed
I meant her no harm
I didn't know she already
had a man
You think I'm her man
Is that what she said
It couldn't be further from
the truth
He stared at the stranger
a puzzled look on his face
She is nothing but a bloody thief
She stole my wallet from me
and she's going to have
to give it back
If you want to know
which way she went
She went down the beach
and turned east
The stranger thanked him
and headed off that way
cursing his bloody fate
he said placing a flower
over her left ear.
