Dear Mrs. Tepper
Dear Mrs. Tepper,
I’m sorry to hear about your loss,
I’m sorry you have this cross to bear,
And though you’ve received condolences,
I too would like to offer a little prayer.
Mrs. Tepper, I know I’m just a stranger,
But if you could hear me for a second please,
I feel so sad about your daughter’s passing,
I also want to extend my deepest sympathies…
See, I’m a drum corps fan like many others,
I take a joy in the talent of today’s youth,
But when the news came over the feeds,
It touched my heart to tell you the truth.
When the Crusaders made the announcement,
I felt a pain for a reason I couldn’t explain,
And now every time I watch Animal Farm,
Sally’s solo just sounds right as rain.
Mrs. Tepper, I know we may never meet,
And I wish I had the right words to say,
Or enough verses to praise Sally’s talent,
But I’m amazed at the way she used to play.
Dear Mrs. Tepper, I want to send many blessings,
That her voice and music bring fond memories,
And though I may not have the right words,
I quietly weep offering my deepest sympathies.
