Lost Amid the Sound
The walls are closing in
But all the screams won’t make them go away
Is anybody listening?
The dream seems more like a nightmare
No one sees his eyes
Ever so distant, long gone and withdrawn
No one pays attention
To the soul with his back up against the wall
And there, amidst the crowd
With the music loud and everyone dancing
He stands aside in the shadow
Like a castaway waiting to see the light
Still no one notices
The ghost in plain sight of everyone around
Lost amid the sound
The lonely spirit drifts away into the night

This is so reflective of loneliness in a crowd, Wally. An excellent perspective shining light on the "ghosts" that society chooses not to see.
