for my beautiful daughter Kimberli,
on her birthday (September 6)
i saw your net worth
at your birth,
when all the glad earth,
filled with mirth,
dispelled the fierce dearth
of hope’s girth,
kindling my slept dreams
at the seams.
ｏ
you are the kindling
that i bring;
drink from the wellspring
of my zing.
fast am i fading
from the ring;
lose not life’s passion:
drink the sun!

How sweet! I can so relate to this, Cabcool! I have two little Virgos ( in their 30's ) coming up this month ( two days, two hours, and 22 min apart )!

I think you easily relate to many of my experiences. And now, when it comes to the wonder of progeny you are right there just the same.
Kimberli turns 32 today. She is like me in most senses --writes bold poetry and paints a great picture (art was my first love). The music I used to play for her in the car as I drove her to K and primary/elementary school between the ages of 3 and 10 now shapes her musical taste in concord with mine.
I will convey your birthday wishes to her. She is pursuing her doctoral studies in the US, where she lives.
