Prayer for Peace
An honourable man you have been
do not be concerned;
allow yourself to rest...
love for you was earned
Family is with you
prepared for your passing-
always to be remembered;
your Spirit everlasting
Fear not what is before you
nor regrets of the past-
release the sorrows
your weary soul amassed
There exists a peace far greater
than anything you know
A promise of solace;
this grace God will bestow
do not be concerned;
allow yourself to rest...
love for you was earned
Family is with you
prepared for your passing-
always to be remembered;
your Spirit everlasting
Fear not what is before you
nor regrets of the past-
release the sorrows
your weary soul amassed
There exists a peace far greater
than anything you know
A promise of solace;
this grace God will bestow

My condolences, Mel. What a special gift words from your own mind and heart make. I'm sure it brought him comfort.

My condolences, Mel. Writing a poem for your father, I'm sure is a healthy part of a process of coming to terms with a difficult event in very strange times.
It was good to see your avatar suddenly pop up on my screen; I'm glad you are still journeying with poetry and DUP. Best regards, Josh.

Dear M,
This is an exquisitely beautiful homage. I’m very sorry about your dad. Your lovely poem has opened a new channel of thinking about my own and I thank you for that. H🌷

Thank you Honoria. RL is an honour. I learned a long time ago to accept the people in my life (particularly family) for who they are and because of that I was able to have a relationship with my dad. I feel blessed for that. Thank you again for taking the time to read and respond. X

My condolences. I've lost both my parents in the last few years. I know it can take a lot out of you. The dedication was lovely.

Thank you Tim. I lost my mom a few years ago and now my dad. Feeling a bit alone in the world but I truly appreciate your thoughts. Much love.
