No Time
I wore a watch a few days ago
Long pants too
Haven't much done that lately
Pandemic time is different
There isn't any time
Everything is a merge of blankness
I liked getting dressed
Went to see a customer
Masked up
Bumping elbows as a greeting
My vintage watch collection ticks on
Waiting for me to bring home clarity
It will be a long wait
They will be there
Ready

How weird it still is to me that our once mundane normal daily jaunts look and feel so differently
I always thought wearing watches was incredibly alluring...phones stopped it. looks nice on you
agrees with LDF......
small sense of hope here
stay safe

It's not easy here
I depend on mass transit
This customer was 14 blocks away
An easy walk for a hardened city bloke
Seeing all the stores with for rent signs was sobering
Seeing the survivors was uplifting
I've been on self imposed work lock down
It's hard to trust the invisible
Still it felt good to slap on the uniform
Socks too

Great fuckin watch. I collect vintage mens watches, I actually had an Accutron Astronaut but flipped it on ebay for a pretty penny.
Oh the poem rocks too ❤

Re: Re. No Time
I have that Accutron Astronaut in black circa 1965.
Bought it on ebay too. Paid to much for it but wanted it so badly.
It's in mint condition. Perfect weight. A prized possession.
Only you will know how beautiful stainless steel was back in that day. There was/is a shine that was different to today.
I also have the Accutron 1975 Anniversary Spaceview watch. I looked for that one for 5 years.
Great stories, the chase as good as the ownership ..
I sold this watch a few months ago on Ebay. It stopped running and the overall was too expensive. Ironically I sold it broken for more than I paid for it running .....

My watch lots bring the most bidders.
I cant find my Hamiltons, I have at least 15 that ive collected from garage sales and estate sales. Mens watches bring a ton, ladies watches not so much.
Best score was an all gold longines mens watch sold that 20mins after I left the sale.
I have a thousand stories revolving around watches!!
Very cool to know a fellow poet also is into the same thing!!

My vintage collection means the world to me
They are friends
Friends often with expensive problems lol
Yes, men's watches are valuable, women's get squat, size perhaps??
I sold my hamilton Piping Rock watch several years ago. I bought it in an estate sale. After awhile the crown got bend somehow and it always bugged me so I sold it. It was my first purchase that meant the world to me. It was tough to let go ..
I just bought a 1965 Longines gold / stainless watch on Ebay. It's perfect. It's dressy and now there's no place to wear it during this mess. Sometimes I just wear it to go buy ice cream ...

Lately I’ve shopping around for watches, nothing too fancy or expensive or flashy. There’s an elegance about it, perhaps a conversational point, but vintage is even more interesting because there’s history there. I look forward to days when I have a collection of well made timepieces I can leave for my kids/grandkids when it’s my time.
Elbow bumps are the new handshakes for a little while.
Nicely done sir.

There is an awesome Hamilton watch I want to buy when this mess is over. Based on a vintage watch of the 1960s. Automatic. Very sharp
