Cry baby cry
A surge of emotion comes
crashing
against my eyes
breaking into small rivulets
that stream down
to destination unknown
I set off in my li'l boat
to a horizon distant,
sailing away to the tune of
soporific note
Flowing along the currents of
torrential emotions
that finally empty
into the vast darkness
I'm lulled to sleep,
slowly submerging me
into the water of dreams
I float lifeless in the ocean of
silence and peace
away from my miseries
When the tears abandon me
without a trace
and a new dawn breaks
I emerge a butterfly
from my cocoon
crashing
against my eyes
breaking into small rivulets
that stream down
to destination unknown
I set off in my li'l boat
to a horizon distant,
sailing away to the tune of
soporific note
Flowing along the currents of
torrential emotions
that finally empty
into the vast darkness
I'm lulled to sleep,
slowly submerging me
into the water of dreams
I float lifeless in the ocean of
silence and peace
away from my miseries
When the tears abandon me
without a trace
and a new dawn breaks
I emerge a butterfly
from my cocoon
Author's Note
I'm in awe of our body mechanism. It's strange that how after we cry our hearts out, we feel drowsy and fall asleep.and after we wake up, we feel emotionally lighter and better. It's just one of the ways of our body trying to keep stress at bay, at least for a while. Tears are real pacifiers :)

This is so very true, Rohini. You nailed the deep-cleanse perfectly. The ending leaves one feeling light and airy imagining their own experience.
In the spirit of honest critique you have requested, I would offer the following:
I set off in my li'l boat
to a horizon distant,
sailing away to the tune
of soporific note
Flowing along the currents
of [ torrential ] emotions
I suggest relocating 'of' to their respective next lines to end their current with strong nouns; to eliminate one 'of' in L6, I suggest altering the tense to torrential—this would also play into the consonance of L you have throughout that stanza, lending a rhythmic tone to it all.
Well done; a beautiful little verse of recovery that many will be inspired by.

Thank you so much, dear Ahavati for spotting that out. I have edited that line. :)
Originally I had penned it as " flowing along the torrent of emotions" , but when I added the line " sailing away to the tune of soporific note", I thought that I should add the word 'current' in the former line. But after doing that I overlooked the fact that that the line was disrupting the flow of the piece.
Thanks once again for your kind input and the RL add. 😊🌷

We all have to cry sometime in our lives to let out our emotions. Keep on writing.

There is a sense of journey, apotheosis and transformation, rising in renewal, throughout the gentle imagery and nuance of emotions in this write that is quite engaging.

Such a beautiful and emotional "redemption song" of sorts... This one moved me deeply with your incredibly evocative imagery and emotions here... In my opinion, it is one of your best. Love you, my friend ❤️
