The picture
The girl on the wall
Framed with gold
Looks at me and smile
She does that all the time
Her black hair blown by the wind
Framing her face
Coffee latte coloured
Softly sun-kissed
Her eyes with expectation
At what the world has for her
She is alone
But hopes someday to be part of a pair
She is nineteen
When she is frozen
For this famous take
Life’s innocent acolyte
The next day after the take
Is the day when she breaks,
The day when her life turns bleak
And change her life’s path
No matter, on that picture
She is glad
She is always nineteen
Always content.
