I’m Not Heartless
You left me too broken
to be loved
And I know what it’s like
to try to love something
that’s broken
you’re left barely standing
surrounded by ruins
of collateral damage
covered in blood
from wounds you didn’t afflict
being punished for sins
you didn’t commit
scrambling to clean up the catastrophic mess
of your life
while they run off
with pieces of your heart
you’ll never get back
Having taken what they needed
leaving you depleted
with deep wounds
that may never be mended
How do you consciously
put that on someone else?
I’m not sure I could live with that

I pray he gets the pain tenfold, I hope you somehow rebuild your broken heart and find someone who will treasure it with the love and passion it rightly deserves

Sometimes I fall under the impression that life is brief for a reason, that the eternal spirits are punished by spending time trapped in a mortal form designed to take a perpetual beating until it finally gives out, being punished for crimes we didn't commit, then the soul is returned to face the relevant judgement for misgivings we know nothing about. A life lived is time served.
The question is, what did we do before life to warrant the trials we face whilst here?? How can a child born in innocence be subjected to a lifetime however long or brief, filled with systems of punishment better suited to a bunch of unruly criminals??
It seems as though out lives are set out before us by some ethereal author scripting our days, filling them with characters that'll either help or hinder us in many ways. Yet with every trial we face and pass, out spirit is strengthened to deliver justice to the eternal arseholes who kept tripping us up for their amusement.
You left that jerk in the gutter where he belongs. He lost an Angel who could have helped save his soul. Your trials are done. The rest of your life should be a permanent vacation by comparison. XXX

one day at a time my sister..
while climbing over the wreckage of the past sometimes we slip on the debris, maybe even receive a cut or two..
the next time you have one of those days.. bath bomb and a glass of chardonnay and rest..
