The Cowboy List

I know we’re all different
We have various personalities and experiences
We come from diverse backgrounds and environments
And that when we work together as a team
With a common goal
We should always have respect for one another

Everyone pulls their own weight
Some more than others
Some less
Some a lot less
Some not all
But the latter two of the lines above can make my cowboy list

Everyone should be pleasant and outgoing
Some are very cheerful
Some not so much
Some should just stay the fuck home
The last one can and will make my cowboy list

Work should always have a professional setting
With some laughter and levity it’s enjoyable and fun
It’s fulfilling when folks can commune and communicate
To achieve said objectives
But if none of these apply to some folks
It’s a definite addition to my cowboy list

If they take credit for my or someone else’s work – on the list
Not adhering to the rules and regulations – listed
Being shady and sneaky – definitely on the list with a marker and in bold

Don’t be too over sensitive or else your ass won’t last in this world
Don’t misinterpret tones or else your feelings will get hurt
But don’t lie or make shit up

Now, I’m pretty easy going
I like to think I’m friendly and courteous
Just don’t be a cunt

But if you purposely fuck up
Or try to put a knife in my back
Or try to throw me or others under the bus (which happens a lot)
Know I’ve been paved over with tanks and steamrollers before

You won’t have my trust
Sorry, that emotional bank account is closed
I’ll treat you with civility and professionalism at work
I won’t be fake
But you better well damn not say a thing to me
Because I’ll call you out on your bullshitting lying ass
While still maintaining my manners and work ethic

So to those work slackers
Shady hackers
Liars and slobs at jobs
My cowboy list is the people I’ve worked with who pissed me off
