Or at least honey! I read that some hives have learned to defend themselves by forming balls around the hornets, thus cooking them alive - ah. . .when the hunter becomes the huntee! * evil laugh *

And after this week we are all going to have terrifying pest filled nightmares lol !

It's interesting how you used "casserole" as metaphor.
The idea of cassorole is throwing together food that was almost at its end of shelf life that otherwise wouldn't survive on its own or much long...so put together they infiltrated flavor and borrowing another life form cooked together.
And here we have these invasive pests in a 'nest' taking over like parasites feeding from one life to extend theirs.
Pretty cleverly done here Ahavati, the casserole is well put together lol :)

I have to say this one made me squirm. I found its imagery TOO effective, given how phobic I am about creepy crawlies and nature’s more parasitic side! x

hahahaha! GOOD! I mean it was about MURDER HORNETS, after all! Actually, the little fella loses, as honeybees are known to surround their predators, forming a ball that cooks the intruder! Thus, hornet casserole!
