springtime
I daydream lazily one afternoon gazing out my window
spring called to me from my comfy place in my little apartment
she called me out of my complacent thoughts
so enamored with the day I walk outside
where spring and all her glory greeted me
the swaying of the trees seemed to be saying hello
little sunflowers push up through cracks in the sidewalk--
filling me with optimism
life always finds a way
the daisies lazy in their bed smile as I walk by
they knew...inside I was getting in tune
with her...mother nature
she called to me gently on the breeze
little one do you remember me?
I did I remembered fondly the days of my youth
when she cradled me in an obliging tree
and sun drops shine on me while i played hopscotch
carefree days
I was transported utterly in love with springtime
the day laugh and I laugh back
then I breathe a deep sigh and smiled inside myself
relieved by the season
I carried the day back inside with me
