the great dragon of old

 
the eternal creates great circles in my mind
forever turning and evolving in truth
injecting my thoughts with visions
questions become a complex matrix of contemplation

I see the great dragon of old upon a cloud of doubt
he points to the virgin in accusation
a voice booms...a crack of thunder

I look heavenward and behold--
an army...swords drawn pointed at the beast
the accuser stands accused for all time

the eye of time unfolds history from the very beginning
there is no more doubt...centuries passed the peoples beguiled
for crimes against humanity he is found guilty

he is cast in down inside the pit...great and heavy chains placed upon his neck
the weight of the shame is felt deeply
the peoples like the vast seas shake their heads in confoundment
no longer under the spell of bemusement,
they wonder they were ever deceived at all

his sentence is foretold in the bible
for a thousand years he shall be locked away
then released for a period of time to try the peoples once more

I open my mind and ponder the perplexity of this vision
circular in nature my mind is made aware just to question the magnitude of it all
I pray after a thousand years my fortitude is such that I will be a fool no more
