Feel it too

I don’t know what’s wrong with me
Grandpa died but I didn’t cry
I Feel the dread in other peoples eyes

Gas on pump three
double checked
Each look back I see
the stress she’s showing
The need for overtime and sleep
Her baby crying the dad said goodbye
He parted ways court didn’t help
What a surprise waking early before sunrise
raising alone tiny apartment
scratching up change
tears her apart And
knowing she’s barely making way
Customers preoccupy her days
Till worries rush by
come up With Another
excuse to the sitter
Can’t pay you tonight

Somehow she says have a nice day
I feel it too
I feel it too
I feel it too
I feel it too

Got in started to drive
Veteran on the corner holding a sign
Said he served and toured a couple times
flight home he Lost wife suicide
Depression set in, months flew by
Now homeless Alone under the sky

Somehow he says have a nice day
I feel it too
I feel it too
I feel it too
I feel it too
