I Am
I am lonely in a crowded room
I wonder if it is me or is that selfish for me to assume?
I hear their laughing, the easiness of their chatter
I see their wonderful smiles, the sparkle in their eyes, simpleness is all that matters.
I want to be free, to dance to trusting tune,
But I am lonely in a crowded room.
I pretend to be strong
I feel all this wrong.
I touch my walls, I fear their fall
Yet I worry with their presence, he will never hear my heart's lonely call
I cry, hidden beneath the moon
And still I am lonely in a crowded room
I understand that it takes time
I say that for now I know I'll be fine.
I dream for a unity, a friend, a spouse
I try to wait patiently, but this heart needs a house.
I hope I will meet him soon
So that I am no longer lonely in a crowded room
