School for Mediocrity

Perfectly placed bricks
In a perfectly sized wall
Shaped so to the front
All attention is called.

Teachers drone
And students moan
Bewailing the time 'til they can flee.
Wishing, not for once, that school was easy.

For those that it is,
School is horrific
And each boring lesson

Monotonous hours kept
Doing absolutely nothing except
Things they certainly already know
Taught to them purely for show.

Not challenged in the least
Not helped to achieve their dreams
You'd think with it all so general
It'd be some bureaucratic scheme.

Of course education is smart
But only when taught as an art.
One must first learn a students taste,
And teach the material without the slightest haste.

School will take you far
As far as you wish to go.
But some schools I cannot stand.
Mediocrity bores me so!
