New Year's Revolution
The birds are singing, and bells a’ringing
In celebration of the new year’s bringing;
But if I had one resolution,
I’d wish to start a revolution!

Dear NB,
Very clever. I enjoyed the rhyming aspect and meter, yet find myself curious as to what your revolution would be?
Great taste in music. I love Sam Cooke. Happy New Year! H🌷

The current presidential administration believes climate change is a hoax, amidst a climate crisis. People are dying in the streets, while the top 1% live luxurious lives. The combined fortunes of the world's 26 richest individuals reached $1.4 trillion last year — the same amount as the total wealth of the 3.8 billion poorest people. Inequality and greed are rampant in this day and age. In the United States, people are so divided right now - so extreme left or extreme right thinking, that no one seems to be willing to find a middle ground. Perhaps I wish for a revolution of thought. A new way of thinking. I wish for people to be more caring, to take better care of this planet, and for less suffering and more equality and less divisiveness in this world. I am only one person, though, and I can only do so much, but I will work to be a better person, and vow to help others when I can. That is my resolution... :)
Thank you for stopping by, H. It's good to know that there are others that still enjoy his empowering music! Happy New Year to you as well, and best wishes to you!

One of my favorites songs! I always loved Sam Cooke, but he apparently hurt my dog's ears, and he would howl incessantly every time I played him so I stopped. Now that he's gone, I find it very difficult to play him without missing my dog.
I, too, wish for change, particularly for people to put aside their egos and work together. Seems "Being right" is more important than anything right now.

Awww, that is interesting what you have shared about your dog. I guess some frequencies that are pleasant to the human ear are sometimes too sensitive for a dog's... Sure sounds good to me, though!
Thank you for sharing that with me. You are correct... I wish instead of being right, people were more focused on being kind - I think that would get us much further in this world ❤️
Thanks so much for stopping by again, Ahavati! :)
