From the Chimney I See
intricate, delicate, beauty
slowly rising, effortlessly
from the chimney I see
clouds of dark
remnants of what was
becoming a new thing
that’s astounding
swirls of gray that touch the sky
harmoniously
what i’d give to be
above the rooftops, ascending
falling captive to the air
letting winds guide me
black and heavy
some say polluting
but from the chimney I see
puffs of a new beginning
slowly rising, effortlessly
from the chimney I see
clouds of dark
remnants of what was
becoming a new thing
that’s astounding
swirls of gray that touch the sky
harmoniously
what i’d give to be
above the rooftops, ascending
falling captive to the air
letting winds guide me
black and heavy
some say polluting
but from the chimney I see
puffs of a new beginning
