rainy day cowboy
the morning gave of herself this gray day
she was generous parting the clouds
allowing the sun's rays to caress my face
transported to a dreamy place in time
where you are, my dearly missed cowboy
I can hear your voice so clearly as you joke and laugh
you came on a thunder cloud--
while the wind blew across the morning sky
I don't forget a favor and I always reward loyalty
my magic is patient, I am not
it waits on me to be calm of mind before I am allowed to cast
today I chant a prayer of renewal for you
let you be free as the wind that blew you to my memory
it's going to rain but inside me, the sun is shining
I have your smiling face reminding me who I am today
the words of some may be cheap
but this promise you can take to the bank
tenfold will I give back to you
I don't forget a soul debt
and I haven't forgotten you, no not ever
