My Rock Star Hero

The most offensive thing I have ever heard another human being say was that my hero is just hiding out and being a burden. Our son in law literally told him he had no problems and to stop being a burden!

The man who is 100% disabled by immune responses and nerve damage according to his medical team. Who still writes, pours hours of every day into his children, hours more into his wife, does man-chores whenever he can eat/walk and never acts like a sissy even though he's in pain every day!

He has excellent business sense, a wide range of skills, average or better street smarts, is ultra artistic and ambitious, has excellent morals - no - flawless morals... an exaggerated sense of obligation and responsibility... will get stuff done with a broken rib and you won't even find out unless you try to hug him... The man who has recently written enough songs to put out an album who also writes programs.

Our 14 year old, my "Winter Sunshine," who is admittedly a nice kid, can't remember being punished once by him. The last time we remember, she was a tot. The one time. It was such a small little punishment that in the moment I was actually sad about him being unable to deploy such minor negative consequences. But hey, just a word of disapproval or actually her asking me if dad was disappointed was all that girl needed, anyway.

He wants nothing more than his kids to succeed.

So I feel angry about anyone mischaracterizing such a saint.
