Early morning flow

Luck is self-laid / Fuck a pity play / Buck gritty spray / City by the bay / From my dues I was made / Still good today to go back and overpay / Never want to hear myself say /  “I could have been a contender.” / So a hustler’s tale is a neverender / Waking up slaying pretenders / Embers of affection and tender aggression / Cinders pop what the tongue drops / Mouth like a tinder box / Infinitely generative spin within? / Is my forget-me-not / From Diana Prince’s lariat / I rebraided my telomeres / So lasso me to what’s nearly invisible yet so near / I’m just spitting what’s flickering after my years / What keeps whispering to me in every mirror
