Why do people go to war?
Folks go to war for water
they go to war for oil...
sometimes it seems
they go to war
when tempers start to boil…
To steal land from the neighbors
war is just another way…
some folks will swear
God told them to
what an awful thing to say…
In the end it's pretty simple, kids
and just 'tween you and me…
mostly people go to war
because they disagree…
Their Mamas never taught them
to work their problems out...
to get together
with each other
to talk, instead of shout...
they go to war for oil...
sometimes it seems
they go to war
when tempers start to boil…
To steal land from the neighbors
war is just another way…
some folks will swear
God told them to
what an awful thing to say…
In the end it's pretty simple, kids
and just 'tween you and me…
mostly people go to war
because they disagree…
Their Mamas never taught them
to work their problems out...
to get together
with each other
to talk, instead of shout...

the selfish desire of wanting to maintain peace causes wars.
Peace cause wars and hatred is born to protect love.
“Man seeks peace, yet at the same time yearning for war… Those are the two realms belonging solely to man. Thinking of peace whilst spilling blood is something that only humans could do. They’re two sides of the same coin… to protect something… another must be sacrificed.”

I'm pretty sure I can't agree with that one, Poet... it's way too cut and dry for me...
I think peace can be sustained with compassion
and respect...for our fellow human beings. hugs... Ely

Seeing life through the eyes of a child does not prevent bearing responsibility like an adult, Chyna dearest...
Please note the "quotes" bracketing grow up...in this case indicating irony... to many folks growing up means conforming, like a suit and tie...one does not need to conform to the norm in order to be a responsible (adult) person, pay the bills, keep one's word, etc.
I will not conform in that manner, and hence compromise my true Self...
For that very reason I became an artist and worked for myself most all my life...
Didn't make a bunch of money...but I worked at what I loved. Paid my bills, kept my word, etc. Life is Good...(politics suck, though) ...hugs... Ely

I totally agree with you, dear friend. Growing up is very different for each of us, but it does include to be responsible enough to accept the responsibility of our decisions that we make & be at peace within our own journey. Their are some basic things that we must be adult enough to take care of such as housing, food, & well being of our mind, but the main thing is to be the best you, not who someone else's idea of who you are. Frankly, money has noting to do with evolving into an adult at all. We all have our own journey on this earth.
