A Cry From Within

Am I no longer alone in this womb?
Is there someone trying to enter?
Pushing to and fro, trying to get in
with shouts from outside the placenta.
I'm here to stay for a few months still
if she stops what she's doing, making us ill.
Abusing her body with me tucked inside
causing affects from which I can't hide.

She's looking around with unseeing eyes
full of canabis smoke, doesn't she realise
that she's harming me growing inside her,
with cigarettes, "coke",Lager and cider.
He's up and left now, out through the door,
and left her laying alone on the floor.
The heroin she's pumped into her veins
is now affecting both out brains.

The telly churning out Wallace and Grommet
while she is choking on her own vomit.
Then she takes her final breath.
So nothing for me now, only death.
My life is over before it has started.
No one to mourn this dear departed.
Nobody knows I was ever here,
I've been non existant to even her.

My heart is stopping now, next my brain.
No longer to feel any pain......
Just the darkness.......
And yet.........??

One one hundred, two one hundred, three one hundred, four...
Blowing in her lungs while she lay there on the floor.
Someone to the rescue, to save her from this fate,
while I'm still trapped inside her hoping its not too late.
The lights, the sirens, the jostling to and fro.
They seem to have succeded in getting her heart to go.
Then rushed into theatre, she's cut open with a knife.
As I enter a bright new world, she loses her fight for life.

Breathing on my own now, all alone I am.
I've come into a whole new world
But left behind
My Mam.
