Invites sent out
Friends all attending
Little do they know
Of the game we're comprehending
Glassware sparkling
Cutlery placed with care
Our over sized table is all set
With good china everywhere
The night arrives
And the scene is set

This night we won't forget
Guests all seated
Dinner is served

Entree is served
Main course is next

Could I Be?
The smoothness of his words
Float in my subconscious
Whispering endearments
Not giving me a choice
My heart beats to a tempo
Predetermined by the gods
Only he can scramble it
Causing a quickness with his laugh
With an accent so sexy
enticing a smile from my lips
He has no idea of this
For I hide behind distance
Can he hear the sadness in my voice
My heart bleeds for his loss
As he still struggles
Trying to mend his broken heart
The love of his life
No longer walking by his side

With crinkles in the corners of your eyes
