PATIO PRE DAWN
A priceless moment, felt so blessed,
when, of my running kit undressed,
I feel the welcome cooling breeze
around my torso, twixt my knees,
as round my patio I walk,
no neighbours up to see and 'talk'.
It's straight after my pre-dawn run;
moon is not out, don't yet see sun.
I stretch my arms up to the sky
in 'give you all' to the Great Guy,
thank Him for the way He's kept me
together in soul and body,
as well as for place of my own,
where I am happy, though alone.
Obscured by backyard's nine-barred gate,
I go back indoors in this state.
(My picked-up shorts and hi vis coat
acting like Adam's fig leaves, note!)
