AWAKENING SURPRISE
Rising from my bed, naked, alone,
my eye is caught by a handsome bone,
dry (there had been no erotic dream
to wake from, just alarm clock's scream).
Tells me I'm still warm blooded man,
with regard to future love, 'can'.
I am set up with thoughts of fun
as I don shorts for morning run.
Another nice thing to tell me,
'Don't write yourself off at sixty.
There is life in your body yet
to be enjoyed, with no regret.'
