I Love You
The night I knew
I'd never hear
"I love you"
again..
I closed my casket
I slept to imaginary stars
touching synthetic hearts
with frozen hands
I want you to understand
the pain that clashed
with the emptiness
of my tomb
when I yearned to say
"I love you"
You were just so warm
strong and everything
I could never keep
And though I would never dare
to let anymore affection
allow itself release beyond
these sheets..
At least I know
my secret
is safe with me
I'd never hear
"I love you"
again..
I closed my casket
I slept to imaginary stars
touching synthetic hearts
with frozen hands
I want you to understand
the pain that clashed
with the emptiness
of my tomb
when I yearned to say
"I love you"
You were just so warm
strong and everything
I could never keep
And though I would never dare
to let anymore affection
allow itself release beyond
these sheets..
At least I know
my secret
is safe with me
