I wish I had gotten braces... (Minot)
"Hey Harold. I've been meaning to ask you someth..."
'STOP.'
She was smiling. I wondered what she looked like when she had braces...
"Stop what?!"
'Whatever you are about to ask. Just Stop.'
"But whyyyy."
'I'm tired?'
"Liar!"
'I have a headache?'
"You just said you felt fine!"
'You know, I don't have to sit here.'
"Whatever, you like the water and this is the only bench nearby."
'I'll sit on the grass.'
"No you won't."
'.....'
The grass was still wet.
*sigh*
'Fine. What is it?'
"Let's see...If you had to choose,
between only telling the truth
or only lying.
Which one would you pick?"
'I knew it.'
She was still smiling. "Well??"
I decided she probably had colored braces.
Maybe a shade of light blue.
Something that wouldn't stick out to much but would make her smile even more if complimented.
I thought about it for a second and yawned.
'Neither I guess. I could see myself becoming mute.'
"That's not fair!"
'What? Sure it is. I can't do either that way.'
"Why do you ALWAYS try and opt out when I ask stuff."
I smirked.
"No....Don't..."
I turned towards her and started grinning.
"You."
I raised my brow and smiled with all my teeth showing.
"DARE!
NOOOO!!! YOU HAVE TO ANSWER!"
I started to laugh.
She kicked her legs, crossed her arms and looked straight forward.
During her fake pouting it began to rain.
It seemed way to fitting. I ignored it.
After a few minutes she finally stood up, reached for my hand and said,
"Come on jerk. It's only going to get worse out."
'...'
"You can talk now you know.....
Are you going to do this the whole way?......
Oh my God, say something!"
Walking back and away from Souris I changed my mind.
She would have chosen pink.
She probably stopped drinking coffee for the year or however long it was to avoid the stain marks.
Something told me she didn't do it for the compliments though.
That the compliments just came naturally.
and something was just...
really okay about that.
