Appreciate Your take on Your experience
but unable to agree 100%
and i base this on my stepson who is autistic and has never flapped. OK, he's done way worse shit but this is not about him.
Love the Brevity, though

Labels can be godsends or curses. I am sorry there appears to be so much ignorance in the world today regarding those who are different than themselves. As if anyone is like another person that lives.

If asked what's Autism?
Honestly?
I'd not a clue
I treat everyone I meet with equal attention where possible
To not read up about it is lazy by me
But I've not
But then I don't need to read up about an ailment to assess if someone is kind & consciously aware
Theres interesting intelligence to your words
That'll do fine by me Sir
Obviously if I were closer to someone then sure I'd read more of it to gain a greater understanding of the name
But as is I guess

Everybody should treated kindly in an ideal world but sadly this is not the case, and as you say why should look into autism when it doesn’t affect you, human nature, poems like this that I post are only to make people aware that not all autistic people are like Rain-man character played by Dustin Hoffman. Cause there are many people that see autistics as window lickers

Very true
Autism comes in many shades I guess
It's not a concern at all
Or would be

I enjoyed your poem and can relate to your plight in
Life as I have been through that my entire life until the last couple of years which I have somehow escaped from. I was forced to speak to people every day. That or be homeless, and I have Become stronger by doing so. Terrified at first, I have gained social strength and confidence by facing my fears just as a marathon runner has to get that first mile down every day. Before he or she can get to the next level where you can just keep running
