Everything……
I have ever wished for
Has been blown into the fading sunlight
Been reckless through the years
Pouring my intelligence down my throat
Alcohol never dulled the pain
Holes in memory
Of times passing me by
Already one foot in the grave
It’s been heavy dragging that coffin
Tried laying in it a few times
But it won’t let me rest just yet

Not really into writing long drawn out poems if I can say it in a short version and still have impact

Never thought of it that way... drinking yourself to the grave is like that perfect pair of jeans... once you've squeezed in, there's no way getting out. I like it... Salut!
