Insane Asylum
Do not dare to wake them up
Or even worse try to rile ‘em
Or forever you will be
Inside our insane asylum
The screams of those beings possessed
Are haunted by eternal pains
The dreams of those souls obsessed
Are bound by ethereal chains
And all that is filled with soundness
They will take away what’s yours
And then be filled with madness
You won’t leave once inside the doors
You’ll embrace the psychotic fears
And play the songs you’ll master
For memory echoes in tears
Full of maniacal laughter
Be our guest so go ahead and panic
Stripped of reason and humanity
Surrender to the brain mechanic
And welcome your insanity

Dark certainly, cool too, and love the last stanza - it really zings and for some obscure reason reminds me of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Welcome to the Pleasure Dome"

Frankie Goes to Hollywood! Now you're take me back to the 80s.
The concept was for my old high school marching band show that would've been titled "Asylum", the director and I were sharing some ideas (music, drill) that would go well in a production. i wrote the first stanza for the "tour" t-shirt and wrote the rest of the poem later. But nothing came of it. I wanted to keep that dark and cool vibe.

I felt like I was walking through one of those old haunted asylums I watch about on YouTube.

I like watching those too, I watch the explorer ones , especially when they freak out and can’t explain what happened.
