While barbed wire sings “In The Sweet By and By” – Sonnet Sixty
Considering the dangers of the mind,
The paths that every neuron’s spark resists,
How roses smell, like burning diesel blinds,
And water tastes like casualty lists.
I have to laugh at fries and Big Mac’s range,
Like Quick Assualts’ STS systems drop,
Both land to kill in hospitals’ exchange,
As arteries and AK’s pop, pop, pop.
I love that newsprint lined my birdies’ cage,
‘Cause now it’s our brains catching used news’ shit.
In Fox’s and in CNNs outrage,
A gas attack to help the sheep forget.
It’s Reich or wrong, that Jue’s in Spanish cry,
While barbed wire sings “In The Sweet By and By.”
